IAM Task Force Meeting - REFEDs Distinguished Engineer Report and Federation Updates

Objectives: 
The final sessions of the Broadening Asi@Connect Knowledge on Federated Identity, Roaming and E-infrastructure (BACKFIRE) project. In these sessions we will acknowledge the activities, advances, opportunities successes of the project.

As a direct outcome of the Backfire project has been the creation of the REFEDs Distinguished Engineer program that awards the recipient the opportunity to participate in global REFEDS meeting, attend the TNC conference and to be mentored by colleagues from advanced established federations. Raja V, Scientist has the honour of being the first APAN recipient. Raja V will present on his trip and share his experiences with us.

The BACKFIRE project has seen the growth in number of Identity Federations across the APAN region some of which have joined the global eduGAIN initiative. Each federation will provide an updates on recent activities and their action plans into the future.

As the final BACKFIRE session we will review the successes of the project and discuss future steps to ensure the continued growth of federations across the APAN region.

02. Federation Update - Jacinta Rebelo
Jacinta will coordinate the federation updates to be provided by participants from national federations. Each federation will provide an updates on recent activities and their action plans into the future.
