Objectives :

To further build the capacity and capabilities of our members and R&E community, to help them to communicate the great work they are doing and the challenges they are solving. It will build on the earlier workshops in China, Singapore and Korea, hopefully attract an even wider audience, and drill more deeply into key areas with potentially hands-on activities.

Session Chairs :

Markus Buchhorn , APAN
Peter Spinks
Helga Spitaler, GEANT
EunJin Hu ,TEIN*CC, Korea

Agenda :

This workshop follows on from the successful workshops in Singapore and Daejeon. At the request of the attendees there, this time we will aim to make it a much more hands-on workshop. It will also be the opening part of a week-long activity as time permits.

The four organisers of this workshop who are attending APAN48 will be available at times throughout the week – and after. They will offer some one-on-one sessions to discuss and further shape your strategy, and to help you write, prepare and polish a story ready for publishing.

1. Developing a marketing/communications strategy and plan - Markus Buchhorn , APAN

This session will focus on the development of your marketing and communications strategy. Come prepared to think about what you need, and to discuss it with the attendees, and you should leave with the outline of a strategy for your organisation; maybe even quite a detailed plan.

2. The craft of story-telling - Peter Spinks

This session will focus on the craft of storytelling, how to build a compelling story for your particular audience and channel. You should leave with your own first story drafted for review and publishing.
